• What you get when your fax prints out depends on who sends it and what they send. If the people that you communicate with via the fax have a low resolution machine then your high-end machine will not make a difference.
• Color fax machines are a rare find - and only print in color if the other party faxes in color.
• Fax machines are designed to be replaced every few years. It is better to invest in a new machine then try to save a couple of dollars on a refurbished machine.
• Keep supplies handy. Nothing makes life more difficult in the office than running out of supplies (I recently had to wait for ten minutes for my closing papers on a new building because someone had let the fax machine run out of paper and it was back-loaded and had to print those first).
• Consider the number of faxes you receive in a day. Many of the lower priced machines can handle a large work load, but over 30 a day and you will probably want to invest in a more durable model.
